Qover to Power BMW and MINI Insurance Platform in Ireland
Qover partners with premium car brands BMW and MINI to deliver embedded insurance solution with omnichannel capabilities for the Irish market

Qover, an insurtech company that enables businesses to embed insurance products into their digital platforms, has formed a partnership with BMW and MINI to deliver a motor vehicle insurance solution for customers in Ireland.

The collaboration will introduce an omnichannel approach to vehicle insurance, allowing customers to access insurance services throughout their purchase journey, whether online or at dealerships.

The platform enables users to request quotes, complete policy purchases and manage their coverage through digital channels or with customer support assistance.

The partnership represents one of the first embedded insurance solutions for premium automotive brands in the Irish market, with the service expected to launch within months.

Digital integration

The insurance platform incorporates digital tools that enable retailers to provide insurance options at multiple touchpoints.

This embedded insurance model—where insurance products are integrated directly into the purchase journey of another product or service—aims to streamline the process for both customers and retailers.

The platform offers policy management capabilities, allowing customers to modify or cancel their coverage online. It also provides specific coverage options for electric and hybrid vehicles, including battery protection and charging cable coverage.

Repairs will be conducted at approved bodyshops in Ireland using original BMW and MINI components, according to the announcement.

Quentin Colmant, CEO and Co-founder of Qover, says: "This program showcases how embedded insurance transforms both customer experience and retailer engagement. By creating a seamless omnichannel journey, we're meeting customers where they are while empowering retailers with digital tools."

Multi-party collaboration

The insurance offering is being developed through a collaboration with Wakam, a business-to-business-to-consumer (B2B2C) insurer that specialises in creating customised insurance products for distribution partners. Wakam provides the underwriting capabilities for the insurance solution.

Catherine Charrier-Leflaive, CEO of Wakam Group, says: "We're proud to support Qover with our embedded insurance expertise and technologies. Together, we're enabling a new era of personalised insurance, giving BMW and MINI drivers in Ireland access to trusted protection in a simple and efficient way."

Both Qover and Wakam indicate they will work with BMW and MINI to monitor the programme and implement improvements based on customer feedback and usage patterns.

BMW Group, which owns both the BMW and MINI brands, maintains a global production network spanning more than 30 sites and sells vehicles in over 140 countries.

In 2024, the company reported sales of 2.45 million passenger vehicles and 210,000 motorcycles, with revenues of €142.4bn (US$161.7bn) and pre-tax profit of €11bn (US$12.4bn).

MINI

Qover currently provides embedded insurance services across 32 European countries, working with companies including digital banks Revolut and Monzo, food delivery platform Deliveroo, electric vehicle manufacturer NIO, and bicycle manufacturer Canyon.

The implementation of this platform demonstrates the growing intersection between financial technology and traditional industries like automotive manufacturing and insurance.

By digitising and embedding insurance offerings into the vehicle purchase process, these companies are aiming to reduce friction points for consumers while potentially increasing attachment rates for supplementary financial products.

Colmant adds: “We're proud to bring our technology to support BMW and MINI customers in Ireland, establishing one of the first embedded insurance solutions for premium automotive brands in this market.”
