New AI-powered bordereaux tool to revolutionise how data is shared in the market
Charles Taylor InsureTech launches 'Bordereaux Sync', an AI-powered tool that screens and repairs data errors before they enter management systems

Charles Taylor InsureTech has created a new bordereaux data repair and cleansing tool: ‘Bordereaux Sync’, which will transform bordereaux management.

Development is in partnership with Microsoft and their technology partners, the tool is a smart assistant that harnesses the latest AI technology to screen bordereaux and resolve issues such as incorrect, missing or inconsistent information in files and records.

Bordereaux management is complex and prone to errors due to the volume and variety of data exchanged between insurers, brokers, coverholders and TPAs.

With Bordereaux Sync, data can be screened at the start of bordereaux journeys, before it enters a bordereaux management system such as Charles Taylor InsureTech’s Tide platform.

It means that the reliability of bordereaux can be checked early on, at the beginning of information flows, avoiding issues that would emerge if ‘unclean’ data is passed between counterparties.

Bordereaux Sync provides a more intelligent and precise way to manage files and records. It inspires confidence in data integrity because it will spot mistakes such as mismatched country/address details, mismatched currencies and other inconsistencies and anomalies.

Bordereaux Sync will notify the user if it can’t solve an identified issue and will provide a consolidated list of fixed issues at the end of the data transfer, once all the information has been corrected.

What makes Bordereaux Sync so powerful is the combination of generative AI and agentic AI. Generative AI is continually evolving and growing more refined and responsive, meaning Bordereaux Sync will also evolve.

This is reinforced by agentic AI, which adds a new dimension to artificial intelligence and its role in insurance.

Agentic AI is a proactive technology that can think and act autonomously. It blends machine learning, natural language processing, and automation. AI agents are designed to help Bordereaux Sync ingest large amounts of diverse information, analyse it and make intelligent decisions about accuracy.

As a standalone SaaS tool, Bordereaux Sync aims to work seamlessly with any bordereaux management system.

It will convert data to version 5.2 of Lloyd’s Coverholder Reporting Standards, thus promoting standardisation and straight-through processing as well as data accuracy.

Bordereaux Sync will have a Beta release with a few select clients in Summer 2025 and will be released to the wider market following this.

Kieran Maloney, Head of Global Managed Services and London Market of Charles Taylor InsureTech, commented: “Bordereaux Sync is a precision tool that resolves errors and inconsistencies, saves time, and reduces operational costs.

"It’s a natural complement to Tide, our bordereaux management platform, but can be used by anyone in the insurance community who handles bordereaux. Moreover, because it’s powered by AI, it will evolve and become progressively more effective as a first-step AI solution for data cleansing and repair."

Philip Fumey, CTO and digital strategist at Microsoft, added: "We’ve been working very closely with Charles Taylor InsureTech on Tide and AI initiatives.

"Microsoft is committed to improving insurance with the latest technologies, and our collaboration on the development of Bordereaux Sync underlines how AI-powered tools can transform vital insurance activities and increase operational efficiency.”
