Nathan Adams has been appointed as Chief People Officer at Lloyds of London, the world's leading insurance and reinsurance marketplace. Set to join the organisation in early 2024, Adams will serve on Lloyds Executive Committee and report directly to CEO John Neal.
Nathan brings over two decades of experience in HR and transformation leadership to the role. He comes to Lloyds from Aviva, where he most recently served as Chief People Officer at Aviva Investors, having held various senior positions since joining the company in 2014. His previous experience includes senior HR roles at both Barclays and Arcadia Group.
The appointment marks a transition in leadership as Nathan succeeds Sara Gomez, who is retiring after serving Lloyds since July 2021. She initially joined as Interim Chief HR Officer and Executive Committee member before being promoted to Chief People Officer in 2022.
CEO John Neal praised Nathan's appointment, citing his strong leadership capabilities and extensive experience in driving people-focused initiatives within large organisations. He emphasised Nathan's potential contribution to Lloyd's ongoing efforts to foster an inclusive, high-performance culture throughout the organisation.
He also acknowledged Sara's significant contributions to Lloyds’ culture and people agenda during her three-and-a-half-year tenure, expressing gratitude for her service as a valued Executive Committee member and extending well wishes for her planned retirement.
The appointment represents Lloyds’ continued commitment to strengthening its executive leadership team and maintaining its position as a leading force in the global insurance market.
