Allianz Partners has appointed two new executives to head up the company's data and sales teams as it looks to stay ahead of industry changes

Allianz Partners, a global leader in insurance and assistance services, has announced two senior appointments aimed at reinforcing its data strategy and driving sales growth. These appointments align with the company’s goal of enhancing its digital capabilities and maintaining a competitive edge in the evolving insurtech landscape.

Pieter Viljoen has been named Global Head of Data & Analytics, while Julie Lesne assumes the role of Global Head of Sales Excellence and Steering. Both executives bring over two decades of experience to their roles, which Allianz Partners believes will be critical to achieving its strategic objectives.

Pieter Viljoen: Strengthening Allianz Partners' data capabilities

New Global Head of Data & Analytics, Pieter Viljoen, steps into the role with an extensive background in data management and digital transformation. With more than 20 years of experience in the insurance and banking sectors, Pieter is responsible for leading Allianz Partners’ data strategy, with a focus on using data to enhance operational efficiency, decision-making and customer insights.

Pieter’s career includes leadership roles at ING, Achmea, Standard Bank and Infomet, where he led large-scale data-driven solutions. His appointment signals Allianz Partners’ commitment to digital transformation, an increasingly necessary focus in an industry under pressure to optimise services through analytics.

Pieter reports to Beatriz Corti-Stuber, Chief Transformation Officer and Board Member at Allianz Partners. His appointment highlights the growing importance of data across the insurance sector, where analytics are being used to create personalised customer experiences and improve risk management.

Julie Lesne: Elevating Allianz Partners' sales strategy

Julie Lesne has been appointed to lead the Global Sales Excellence and Steering arm of the company, focusing on aligning Allianz Partners’ global sales strategy with local market demands. Her goal is to accelerate growth, improve sales performance and maintain a customer-centric approach.

Julie joins Allianz Partners from AXA, where she held various senior leadership positions, most recently serving as Global Head of Assistance and Services. Her extensive experience in building high-performing sales teams is seen as pivotal to Allianz Partners’ ambition to expand its global reach and enhance customer engagement.

Julie reports to Jacob Fuest, Chief Market Officer and Board Member of Allianz Partners. Her appointment comes at a crucial time for the company, which is seeking to strengthen its position in the insurance and assistance services industry. As insurers increasingly adopt digital models, aligning global strategies with local markets is becoming more and more essential for sustainable growth.

Tony Kunzmann: Insights from the CEO

Tomas Kunzmann, CEO of Allianz Partners, has expressed a great deal of confidence in both his appointments, noting that their combined expertise would be instrumental in advancing the company’s long-term strategy.

“We are very proud to have such experienced and talented colleagues joining Allianz Partners to help us become more data-driven, customer-centric, and to win additional business,” he says. “In today’s digital world, no company can succeed without being able to use data efficiently, either for informed decision-making, customer understanding or operational efficiency.”
