Fadata, a provider of insurance core software systems, has expanded its global operations with new offices in Malaysia and Peru. The Munich-headquartered firm delivers INSIS, a configurable insurance platform that enables insurers to manage policy administration, claims and billing processes through a software-as-a-service (SaaS) delivery model.

The expansion adds to Fadata’s existing European presence, which includes offices in Spain, Bulgaria, Denmark and Serbia. The company is backed by private equity firms Riverside and Lowell Minnick.

“Expanding our footprint into the high growth region of LATAM and increasing our already solid presence in APAC reflects the success of our business growth plan,” says Liselotte Munk, CEO of Fadata.

Expanding Fadata’s global support network

The new locations will provide round-the-clock technical support for insurance clients using the INSIS platform, which utilises open application programming interfaces (APIs) - standardised connection points that allow different software systems to communicate. This architecture enables insurers to integrate new services and expand into different markets.

Fadata's core offering, the INSIS platform, provides digital foundations for insurers across multiple business lines. The system operates through a service-oriented architecture that enables integration with third-party systems and supports both life and non-life insurance operations on a single platform.

The platform includes modules for customer relationship management, policy administration, reinsurance management and underwriting. Its claims management system incorporates machine learning capabilities to enhance processing efficiency.

The company reports increasing demand for its SaaS offering, where software is hosted and maintained by the vendor rather than installed on client systems. This delivery model requires comprehensive technical support across time zones as insurers shift away from legacy systems.

Regional growth and growing market presence

The expansion comes as Fadata increases its presence in existing markets, including an office expansion in Madrid. The company currently serves insurance clients in over 30 countries, providing solutions for both life and non-life insurance operations.

  • Geographic presence: Offices across Europe (Spain, Bulgaria, Denmark, Serbia), Asia (Malaysia) and Latin America (Peru)

The INSIS platform aims to help insurers adapt to changing market conditions and customer expectations. Its modular architecture allows carriers to add new products and services without significant technical barriers.

Insurance technology experts point to a broader trend of software providers expanding globally to serve multinational insurance groups. These carriers increasingly seek technology partners with local presence in their key markets.

The establishment of regional offices also positions Fadata to benefit from growth in emerging insurance markets. The company's expansion strategy focuses on regions where insurance penetration continues to increase.

Helping Fadata's clients navigate regulatory compliance

The regional offices will help Fadata’s clients navigate local insurance regulations and compliance requirements. The INSIS platform includes specific modules for different jurisdictional requirements, supported by local expertise in each region.

“With offices now spanning multiple continents, including a recent upsize in Madrid, we are perfectly positioned to provide services and solutions to insurance companies of all sizes in any location,” says Munk. “While we help insurers worldwide navigate digital transformation, we can push forward with our own business strategy, which is naturally accelerated by supporting our clients to also expand into new territories.”
