Signal Mutual adds Gradient AI’s claims management solution

Signal Mutual partners with Gradient AI
Signal Mutual has integrated Gradient AI’s claims management solution into its portfolio to facilitate a quicker return to work for injured employees

Insurer Signal Mutual Indemnity Association has integrated AI software provider Gradient AI’s claims management solution into its operations. The insurer says Gradient AI’s tech will help it more efficiently rank risks, triage claims and improve claims management performance.

Seeking the best

Signal Mutual processes up to 5,000 new claims each year, and, as such, is constantly looking for ways to improve its claims management efficiency and effectiveness.

The key, says Signal Mutual, is to have more effective resolutions, and with AI this is done through greater speed of service. More efficient claims triaging means claims are sent to the right employee, with simpler claims automatically assigned to new staff, and complex cases to more seasoned adjusters.

The insurer hopes this frees up internal resources to focus on claims in need of more serious attention.

Ann Latimer, SVP and Head of Claims Operations for Signal Mutual says: “While we have only recently started integrating Gradient AI into our claims process, it’s already making a positive impact on the way we work.

“At Signal, we are committed to expediting injured workers' return to work, minimising claims costs, and enhancing our members’ claims experience. We look forward to continuing to leverage Gradient AI's capabilities to resolve claims more quickly and reduce our overall cost of claims.”

The future is AI

Following the integration of Gradient AI’s claims management solution, Signal Mutual aims to further leverage the supplier’s industry data lake, benchmarking, and reserve-setting capabilities in future partnerships.

Gradient AI’s CEO and Founder Stan Smith adds: “We are excited to support Signal Mutual’s goal of continuously improving its claims management operations and outcomes.

“Our suite of AI-powered solutions and the scorecards we’ve created together are just the beginning. We look forward to continuing our partnership with the Signal team to improve the claims experience for its members’ organisations and their employees.”
