SECUTIX & Cover Genius Unveil Ticket Protection Partnership
SECUTIX teams with Cover Genius to offer automated refund processes across event spaces, following successful implementation at Silverstone

SECUTIX, a provider of cloud-based ticketing systems for the event industry, has announced a partnership with Cover Genius, an insurtech that specialises in embedded protection products.

The collaboration will enable SECUTIX customers to implement a new ticket protection solution powered by Cover Genius technology

The integration aims to provide venue and event businesses with automated refund processes, potentially increasing consumer confidence during ticket purchases.

When selecting the protection option, ticketholders will receive coverage for circumstances that prevent attendance, including illness and injury.

The companies report the offering is designed to boost customer loyalty by providing flexible options within the booking journey.

The partnership follows a test implementation with SECUTIX client Silverstone during the British Grand Prix 2024, which the companies cite as evidence of the solution's effectiveness when incorporated into the ticket purchasing process.

Marc Mazzariol, Senior Vice President of Technology at SECUTIX, notes the partnership represents an expansion beyond core ticketing operations.

“In recent years, the demand for ticket protection has grown, especially post-COVID, as event organisers and venues seek to provide fans with peace of mind,” says Marc.

“Cover Genius is the ideal partner due to its global compliance, which removes regulatory complexities for our clients, and its commitment to continuous innovation.”

The partnership addresses what both companies identify as increasing market demand for protection products across the events sector.

The solution provides event organisers with tools to handle refunds smoothly. The automated nature of the system aims to improve the refund process for both organisers and customers.

Future development roadmap

Support teams from both organisations will continue development of the ticketing protection solution, with planned enhancements including a "Cancel for Any Reason" option currently in development stages.

The integration sits within SECUTIX's broader platform that includes S-360, S-Mobile and S-Pay products, which serve clients including UEFA, Opéra National de Paris, Centre Pompidou and various festivals and sports venues.

“Live events are booming and across the ticketing industry we're seeing demand for protection options that provide customers with the flexibility to purchase tickets early, knowing their investment is safe if they're unexpectedly unable to attend”

Kyle Keogh, Chief Business Officer at Cover Genius

Kyle Keogh, Chief Business Officer at Cover Genius, points to consumer expectations as a key driver behind the partnership.

“Live events are booming and across the ticketing industry we're seeing demand for protection options that provide customers with the flexibility to purchase tickets early, knowing their investment is safe if they're unexpectedly unable to attend,” says Kyle.

“Our global award-winning technology not only ensures ticket buyers can easily access refund options, but also equips event organisers with the tools to handle refunds smoothly and increase customer satisfaction.”

Both companies noted growing interest in protection products following the COVID-19 pandemic, which highlighted the financial risks associated with advance ticket purchases.

The partnership represents a response to changing consumer expectations around flexibility and security in event attendance.
