AXA Global Healthcare Partners with Old Mutual in Kenya

AXA Global Healthcare has announced a strategic collaboration with Old Mutual General Insurance Kenya Limited, marking an expansion of its operations in the African international private medical insurance market.
The agreement includes an exclusive distribution partnership with Executive Healthcare Solutions Limited.
Under the arrangement, all AXA Global Healthcare policies in Kenya will be underwritten locally by Old Mutual for business incepting.
Old Mutual operates as a health insurer in East Africa, and the collaboration combines AXA's healthcare standards with Old Mutual's market presence in the region.

Karim Idilby, Chief Growth Officer at AXA Health International, says the collaboration represents a development in the company's growth strategy.

Karim says working with Old Mutual means the company can deliver value to customers while building ties in local markets. The structure ensures customers access both international healthcare standards and local regulatory compliance.

Distribution agreement covers multiple markets
AXA Global Healthcare has entered an exclusive distribution collaboration with Executive Healthcare Solutions Limited.
The agreement includes the transfer of EHS's existing international private medical insurance customer portfolio across multiple African countries for business effective from 1 August 2025.
The portfolio transfer covers individual and SME clients. AXA Global Healthcare and EHS will work together to serve new customers across selected markets in the region.
EHS will act as the sole distributor of the Global Executive Health Plan, a product designed to deliver global and regional cover.
Andy O'Cain, Global Head of Distribution at AXA Health International, says the collaboration provides a platform for growth in East Africa's international private medical insurance market.

The company has previously formed a partnership with Daman Insurance in the UAE. Andy describes the UAE as the world's second largest international health insurance market.
