Trinity & LifeSearch Expand Services for Military Veterans
Trinity’s partnership with LifeSearch extends private healthcare options to the armed forces community with specialised insurance advice

LifeSearch, the UK protection advice firm, has broadened its partnership with Trinity, which provides insurance cover for military personnel, to offer Private Medical Insurance (PMI) services to veterans and the wider military community.

Trinity, established in 2000, delivers specialist insurance products for current and former military personnel and their families.

The company serves more than 14,000 military customers across the UK, providing general insurance products including military kit cover, buildings and contents cover, and personal accident cover, as well as insurance for military units' welfare and travel requirements.

The two firms initiated their partnership in 2024, when Trinity began working with LifeSearch to give the armed forces community access to protection products and advice tailored to their circumstances.

Expanded services address healthcare needs

The enhanced partnership now includes access to private medical insurance advice, which allows veterans and their families to exercise greater control over their healthcare options.

The service is supported by LifeSearch advisers with specific training in military needs, enabling Trinity customers to secure appropriate cover through online and telephone channels.

PMI, a form of health insurance that covers the cost of private medical treatment, provides an alternative to NHS services with potential benefits such as reduced waiting times and greater choice of specialists.

LifeSearch offers these products from a range of mainstream and specialist insurance providers, matching policies to the specific requirements of military veterans.

Meeting unique military protection challenges

Since the partnership began, Trinity has assisted more than 250 veterans and families with protection services designed for their circumstances.

The companies have also developed educational resources on protection products, distributed to 10,000 subscribers of Trinity's SitRep newsletter each month.

As one of the few insurance specialists focused on the Armed Forces, Trinity aims to provide expert and cost-effective cover through partners like LifeSearch to ensure their customers receive appropriate protection.

“We look forward to continuing to work closely with Trinity to support the Armed Forces community with the expert, human-first protection they deserve”

Ed Axon, Chief Growth Officer, LifeSearch

Ed Axon, LifeSearch Chief Growth Officer, says: “Over the past year, our partnership with Trinity has already helped 250 families with tailored advice that accurately reflects their lifestyles and needs.

“We're proud of the impact we've made together so far, and we're excited to deepen our relationship by extending access to private medical insurance.

“We look forward to continuing to work closely with Trinity to support the Armed Forces community with the expert, human-first protection they deserve.”

Addressing underserved market needs

The military community presents unique insurance challenges that mainstream providers often struggle to accommodate, including frequent relocations, non-standard employment records, and specific occupational risks.

The close-knit nature of veteran communities means that trust and reputation hold significant importance, creating demand for specialised and personalised insurance approaches.

Mark Austin, CEO, Trinity

Mark Austin, Trinity CEO, says: “The Armed Forces community is one that can often be underserved by 'traditional' financial providers.

“There are nuances to military life – such as frequent relocations, non-standard employment histories, and unique risks – that can be difficult to communicate to insurers and underwriters.

“Add to that the close-knit nature of veteran communities, where trust and reputation matter hugely, and it becomes clear why a different, more personalised approach is needed.

"Since partnering with LifeSearch, we've been able to cut through the complexity, reach more veterans with greater clarity, and drive stronger engagement with our financial products.

“Expanding this partnership to include private medical insurance is a natural next step, and one that will help us continue delivering the tailored services this community deserves.”
