Swedish insurtech Lumera bolsters team with addition of COO

Swedish insurtech Lumera has bolstered its management team with the appointment of Johan Rudén to the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Swedish insurtech Lumera has strengthened its management team with the appointment of Johan Rudén to the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Rudén brings with him a wealth of experience, having most recently been CIO at Swedish insurance company Folksam. Lumera says he had “a key role” in upgrading and modernising Folksam’s enterprise systems environment during a period of transformational change. Before that, he spent more than 16 years as SVP – Post Trade Services for Nasdaq as well as six years as a Senior Project Manager for telecommunications company Ericsson.

Lumera, which helps European life and pension insurance providers to digitally transform their business, is currently embarking on a European expansion plan, underlined by its acquisition of Ai-London back in May. The move represented the Swedish insurtech’s first move into the UK market, with the Stockholm-headquartered outfit planning to build the world’s first AI-powered PAS.

‘Bright future’ for Lumera amid European expansion

Mr. Rudén will report directly to Lumera CEO Mats Lillienberg.

“We are really pleased to welcome Johan to Lumera,” Lillienberg says. “His leadership and drive to succeed makes him a significant addition to our management team. I’m positive that Johan’s strategic vision and experience will prove valuable for energising Lumera’s organisation as well as for developing our offering.”

And Johan Rudén says: “My strength is developing and coaching robust, confident teams. I am a strong advocate for agile methodology, which helps speed up development initiatives while highlighting the role and importance of the individual. I see a bright future for Lumera and I’m excited about getting to work with so many great people.”
