Farmers Insurance Group names Raul Vargas as its next CEO
American insurer Farmers Group has named Raul Vargas as its next Chief Executive Officer, replacing Jeff Dailey, who is retiring after more than a decade in the top role.
Vargas is currently President of Distribution, Life and Financial Services for the California-based subsidiary of insurance giant Zurich. He has more than 20 years’ experience in international leadership roles across Latin America and Europe, including eight years as CEO of Zurich Santander Insurance America.
In Farmers, Vargas is taking control of an organisation that has been in business for nearly 100 years. Today, it offers customers a range of vehicle, home and small business insurance, with more than 19mn individual insurance policies and over 20,000 employees. The appointment will take effect from 1 January 2023, subject to regulatory approvals.
