The new strategic partnership between Palantir and Moder aims to transform the mortgage and insurance landscape through data-driven automation

Palantir Technologies has joined forces with Moder, an AI and technology outsourcing specialist, to develop a new mortgage operations platform.

The partnership, which includes Freedom Mortgage as the initial pilot customer, marks a significant shift in how data and AI are deployed across the mortgage and insurance lifecycles.

By integrating Palantir’s Foundry and Ontology capabilities, the platform provides an agentic AI framework designed to sit atop existing systems of record.

The move signals a drive towards greater auditability and precision in high-stakes financial processes.

Driving operational precision

The co-built platform translates complex guidelines and operational policies into configurable and testable rules. This allows teams to execute critical processes, from origination to servicing, with improved scale.

Early deployments with Freedom Mortgage have already seen several key processes go live, resulting in enhanced speed and accuracy for both operating agents and homeowners.

Mike Patterson, Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Freedom Mortgage, explains: “Freedom Mortgage is excited about the tremendous impact this strategic partnership between Moder and Palantir will have on the way we operate and the speed and ease by which we service our customers across the nation.”

The collaboration focuses on building scalable innovation that addresses the core challenges of the financial services sector.

Michael Middleman, Chairman of Moder, adds: “This strategic partnership will reshape the future of our industry.

“Together, we’re building technology that can help improve affordability, lower borrowing costs and expand access to homeownership for millions of Americans.”

Scaling automated solutions

The partnership leverages Moder’s domain expertise in mortgage, banking and insurance outsourcing.

By unifying data throughout the full mortgage cycle, the platform enables governed AI workflows that can be orchestrated end-to-end.

This is particularly relevant for the insurance industry, where Moder already provides services across Life and Annuities, Property and Casualty and Employee Benefits.

Erik Anderson, President and CEO of Moder, says: “Combining our deep expertise in the mortgage industry with Palantir's data and AI capabilities, we’re already seeing measurable results improving the homeownership experience and helping mortgage servicers run more efficiently.

“This latest technology will accelerate at scale our ability to deliver customised and automated solutions to all our clients in multiple industries.”

The technology is designed to help mortgage servicers and financial providers operate with greater efficiency while maintaining rigorous compliance standards.

Impact on customer experience

For large-scale servicers like Freedom Mortgage, the integration of agentic AI represents a move towards more seamless customer interactions.

The platform’s ability to unify disparate data points ensures that the journey from mortgage application to long-term servicing – including the management of associated insurance products – is handled with fewer manual bottlenecks.

The use of Ontology allows for the unification of data, providing a single source of truth for complex financial transactions.

Elias Davis, Office of the CEO at Palantir, says: “We’re energised by the opportunity to collaborate with the team at Moder, who share our mission-first mindset and our belief in the transformative power of smart, scalable innovation.

“Homeownership is a cornerstone of the American dream and through this partnership and our Ontology, we can now unify data through the full mortgage cycle and orchestrate governed AI workflows end-to-end to serve more homeowners, more efficiently, and more accurately.”
