Send Technology Solutions Ltd names Daniel Pass as Chief Technology Officer to strengthen its insurance platform expansion and scalability strategy

Send Technology Solutions Ltd has appointed Daniel Pass as Chief Technology Officer as the business continues to expand the functionality and scalability of the Send insurance platform.

Pass joins Send following his role as Chief Technology Officer for mortgage bank Perenna, where he led the development of secure and scalable technology and guided the organisation through its successful launch as a new challenger bank.

He was previously the Technical Director and Chief Architect for Betfred and has also held several key positions overseeing systems architecture and large-scale technical projects for start-ups, scale-ups and FTSE 100 firms.

Driving next-generation platform development

In his new role, Pass will spearhead Send's technology vision, lead the development of its next-generation platform and deliver the technological strategy to enable scalability and continued business growth.

The appointment comes as Send seeks to strengthen its position in the commercial insurance software market, where competition for technical talent remains fierce.

Pass brings a track record of building technology infrastructure for financial services challengers, experience that will prove valuable as Send scales its operations.

His background in both established enterprises and high-growth start-ups provides the dual perspective needed to balance innovation with operational stability.

Technology as competitive advantage

Commenting on his appointment, Dan notes: "Send is driving significant and tangible change in the insurance market. I was immediately impressed by their award-winning underwriting platform, but also by the appetite for growth and continuous innovation that runs through the business.

“As a 'tech person' through and through, I know I've found the right fit for my own values and skills, and I can't wait to support Send in delivering the next generation in insurance platforms."

The role demands not only technical expertise but also strategic vision to support Send's expansion plans.

As insurers increasingly prioritise digital transformation, the CTO position has become critical for insurtech firms seeking to differentiate themselves through technology.

Executive team expansion

Send co-founder and CEO Andy Moss adds: "The right CTO is essential for any fast-growing Insurtech company. That person needs to not only understand our mission and technology, but also have the vision to support our ambitions, and the expertise to scale our offering as we grow.

"Dan has all of these important qualities and the necessary experience to help us achieve our international ambitions. I'm really pleased to have him join our executive team and look forward to seeing what we can achieve together."

The appointment signals Send's commitment to strengthening its leadership team as it pursues growth in both domestic and international markets.

Dan’s experience in guiding Perenna through its banking launch will be particularly relevant as Send navigates regulatory requirements and technical challenges in different jurisdictions.

His expertise in building scalable infrastructure will be tested as Send seeks to expand its client base whilst maintaining platform performance and reliability.

The hire reflects broader trends in the insurtech sector, where technical leadership has become a key determinant of competitive success.

The appointment also underscores the importance of leadership with cross-sector experience, particularly in regulated industries where technical innovation must be balanced with compliance requirements.
