Michael currently serves as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) for Marsh Canada and Head of Specialty and Industry for Marsh Risk Canada.

He will retain his CCO role alongside his new responsibilities as President. A new Head of Specialty and Industry will be named in due course.

Commenting on the appointment, Sarah said: "Michael’s appointment comes at a pivotal time as our Canadian clients face unprecedented economic and geopolitical volatility, including evolving trade policies, regulatory changes and complex global risks.

"His commitment to clients, deep experience and leadership will be critical in helping our clients navigate these challenges.”

Marsh: Strengthening leadership globally

In addition to strengthening its Canadian leadership team, Marsh has hired Lisa Quest as UK CEO of Marsh.

The appointment, also effective April 2026, will see Lisa succeed the retiring Chris Lay. Reporting to Flavio Piccolomini, she will also maintain her role as Head of UK and Ireland at Oliver Wyman.

Lisa is tasked with driving commercial strategy and developing data-driven solutions to help clients navigate a volatile risk landscape. She brings extensive experience in national resilience and government advisory, including work on the National Wealth Fund.

Her appointment aligns with Marsh’s focus on digital infrastructure and specialist insurance facilities. Lisa aims to leverage her expertise to strengthen client relationships among the four primary business units of the business, in addition to turning complex risks into growth opportunities for UK organisations.
