How Visa & Neat Scale AI-Driven Embedded Insurance in Europe
French insurtech player Neat has teamed up with the global financial network Visa to integrate seamless insurance solutions directly into Visa’s card offerings.
This collaboration creates a fresh avenue for card issuers to deploy modern insurance perks.
Beyond just innovative coverage, the move ensures that Visa holders benefit from highly tailored and streamlined digital assistance.
While the rollout begins in France – upgrading an existing card-linked programme that reaches 25 million people – the partnership is set for a broader deployment across various European territories.
A primary goal of the initiative is to provide users with much-needed clarity regarding their coverage, which remains a decisive factor for modern consumers.
Florence Mélique, Senior Vice-President and Managing Director for France, Belgium and Luxembourg at Visa, says: “Insurance and assistance are fundamental components of the value proposition a Visa card provides to its holders.
“In the French market, our embedded programs already serve over 25 million consumers and entrepreneurs.
“As these services scale, we are seeing a shift in user demands; cardholders now expect transparency, bespoke options and a digital-first approach to filing claims.”
The partnership also promises to overhaul the claims experience itself through advanced digital optimisation.
Florence says: “By teaming up with Neat, we are reimagining how card-linked insurance works by merging the global trust of Visa with cutting-edge infrastructure.
“This alliance allows us to provide protection that is more intuitive and relevant, positioning the Visa card as a high-value daily partner that offers benefits far beyond simple transaction processing.”
The role of AI in embedded ecosystems
The tie-up specifically targets the rising integration of AI within the insurance sector.
Through the use of AI-driven data, the platform will analyse individual user requirements to provide highly specific protections.
As an AI-centric technology firm, Neat provides the underlying infrastructure to help Visa refine its approach to personalisation.
The company focuses on delivering white-label insurance that is characterised as “simple, useful and frictionless”.
Both entities are committed to fundamentally changing how cardholders interact with their embedded benefits.
Maximilien Dauzet, CEO of Neat, says: “Partnering with a global industry titan like Visa serves as a powerful validation of our specific focus within the embedded insurance space.
“This landmark collaboration supports our goal to become a dominant player and a key leader throughout Europe.”
The joint effort facilitates the delivery of high-utility, daily protections.
When paired with a comprehensive digital interface, this results in a seamless claims process and more immediate communication for the user.
Maximilien continues: “This move highlights our capacity to manage embedded insurance frameworks on a pan-European level while maintaining rigorous standards for reliability and speed.
“Visa identified Neat’s technical sophistication and our skill in crafting products centered entirely on the customer.”
Fuelled by a €50m ($58.5m) investment round in 2024, Neat has expanded its footprint to eight countries in just two years of operation.
The insurtech currently supports two million customers through a network of 3,000 distributors, including major names such as Center Parcs, Pierre et Vacances, Cdiscount and Decathlon.
