Davies, a leading specialist professional services and technology company, has appointed Paul O’Brien as its inaugural Group Chief AI Officer. This newly established position is part of a broader initiative to harness innovation and maximise the advantages of artificial intelligence (AI) within the organisation.

“At Davies, we have a rich history of delivering exceptional service to our clients through deep expertise in our respective fields and technological innovation,” Paul says. 

“As Chief AI & Technology Officer, I look forward to collaborating across the business to build on our existing AI capabilities and support our teams in leveraging rapidly evolving technologies.” 

In his role as Group Chief AI Officer, Paul will spearhead the integration of AI technologies across Davies, focusing on developing a core strategy for the ethical use of generative AI (Gen AI). His efforts will aim to enhance the company's products and services, ultimately delivering greater value to its global client base.

Paul O’Brien previously served as Chief Technology Officer for Davies’ Global Solutions division, where he played a pivotal role in launching technology products tailored for the insurance and financial services sectors. He will continue in this capacity alongside his new responsibilities, reporting to Mark Grocott, CEO of Davies’ Global Solutions division, and Jen Morrissey, Chief Operations Officer.

Commenting on the appointment, Jen Morrissey, Davies’ Chief Operations Officer, says: “As AI continues to play a crucial role in enhancing Davies client services and operations, this demonstrates our strong commitment to innovation and excellence.

Davies is committed to investing in various AI initiatives, including Lauri, a claims technology platform that has significantly improved processing times and accuracy in personal injury and credit hire claims.
