Lloyd’s Boosts Long-Term Economic Resilience in Sierra Leone

Leading insurance and reinsurance company Lloyd’s has made an impressive step towards supporting economic resilience and growth opportunities on Sherbro Island, Sierra Leone. The company has entered an agreement with Sherbro Alliance Partners to become part of the wider vision for Sherbro Island City, a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) between the government of Sierra Leone and Sherbro Alliance Partners to create a new Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
“This partnership represents a significant milestone in our efforts to make Sherbro Island a reality. Lloyd’s commitment to backing regenerative projects globally positions them as an ideal partner,” comments Idris Elba, Co-Founder of Sherbro Alliance Partners.

Partnering for sustainable long term growth
Under the agreement, specialist insurance and risk expertise will be available to the market from Lloyd’s, as well as strategic partners international professional services firm Aon and leading market insurer Tokio Marine Kiln (TMK).
Lloyd’s will also provide access to specialist insurance and risk expertise in the market, with input from as strategic partners.
