Chubb, the global insurance leader, has announced the appointment of Andy Houston as Head of UK Commercial Insurance, effective February 2025. This strategic move marks the establishment of a new Commercial Insurance Division aimed at serving the diverse needs of middle market companies across the United Kingdom.
Houston brings an impressive track record to the role, with over 18 years of commercial insurance experience, including 17 years at Chubb. His most recent position as Executive Vice President and Southwest Region Commercial Insurance Manager in North America demonstrated his ability to drive substantial growth in commercial business operations.
In his new role, Houston will oversee the development and delivery of comprehensive insurance solutions, ranging from single products to multi-line packages and specialized industry practices offerings. The division will also leverage Chubb's multinational capabilities to serve clients of varying sizes within the middle market segment.
Mark Roberts, Division President of Chubb UKISA, expressed confidence in Houston's appointment, citing his extensive industry expertise and deep understanding of Chubb's operations and client needs. Houston's academic credentials include an MBA in International Business from DePaul Driehaus College of Business and a Bachelor's degree in International Economics & International Affairs from UNH Peter T. Paul College of Business.
Based in London, Houston will report directly to Mark Roberts. The leadership transition also sees Michael Wilsford, currently Senior Vice President and Dallas Commercial Insurance Manager, stepping into Houston's previous role. Meanwhile, Jonathan Poole, who previously led the Middle Market business, will be departing from the organization after five years of service.
